Spalding Business Club

The first meeting of Spalding’s only not-for-profit networking club was in January 2006. Chris Appleyard, then a Probate executive with Chattertons Solicitors based at the firm’s Donington office, took the initiative to form a club with the support of David Thorpe of Business Link. Mark Ulyett, Business Manager at Lloyds TSB volunteered to help with the organisation of the club and its development from that first meeting.
Paul Brill, who was permanently based at Chattertons’ Spalding office, took over from Chris. Paul has now moved to Chattertons’ Newark office and his role with Spalding Business Club has been replaced by Rebecca Birkett. Rebecca lives in Spalding, but is permanently based at Chattertons’ Boston, South Square office as an immigration, employment and litigation adviser. Rebecca and Mark currently run the club together.
The purpose of this club is to provide a relaxed and enjoyable environment for attendees of all backgrounds, whether sole traders, SMEs and assorted professionals to mingle and, wherever possible, refer business.
New members are always welcome. Just join us on the morning or let us know in advance if you can. The usual format is to meet from 7:00am on the first Thursday of each month at The Loft in Spalding to enjoy breakfast and a guest speaker.
